Policy purpose
The purpose of this policy is to meet the requirements of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, General Data Protection Regulation, and California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018.
Definitions
Personal information, as defined by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, means "information about an identifiable individual, but does not include the name, title or business address or telephone number of an employee of an organisation."
Applicability
This policy applies to any and all personal information collected by me in the course of conducting business with you.
Responsibility
As a freelancer conducting business out of Canada, I am required to collect and maintain records of my business transactions “for a period of six years from the end of the last tax year they relate to”. (See Canadian Revenue Agency website for more information.)
I will not use or disclose collected personal information for any purpose other than the aims and objectives listed below:
to respond to your initial enquiries
to communicate with you during an editing project
to invoice you
to ask you for a testimonial after the work is done
in the event that the Canadian Revenue Agency elects to audit my business
Personal information collected by me is stored on the following data servers:
Google mail: subjected to Google’s privacy policy
PayPal: subjected to PayPal’s privacy policy
iCloud Drive: subjected to Apple’s privacy policy
